Karisa hails from CentralFlorida. She was born in Winter Haven, Florida, and started performing at about the age of 4 for the neighborhood kids. She started performing on stage at the age of 6, and professionally at age 10. While Central Florida remains her home, her career has taken her to Nashville, TN, and "The Big Apple", New York City.
In the 1990's she scored 6 Awards, including 3 from the Country Music Organization of America. She has to her credit 5 Movie, Film, and TV
appearances from 1994 thru 2006. Some of her past shows have included The Grand Ole Opry Showcase in Nashville, The Country Music
Association of America Award Show in Las Vegas, The Country Music Organization of America Award Show in Las Vegas, opening for Country
Music Artists Collin Ray and Mel McDaniel, and The Big Dog Country's Veteran's Benefit Show (WUUF 103.5 FM, Rochester, NY).
Her influences include Dolly Parton, Gram Parsons, James Hetfield,Elvis, and Patty Griffin. Her sound has been described as "Sheryl Crow meets Bob Dylan, with a little bit of Alanis Morissette thrown in for good measure". With 6 albums under her belt, and another in the works, she has definitely made her presence known, and in the months and years to come her music is sure to be on everyone's hearts and minds.
